Rapper Eminem is doing the right thing by hooking up with Spike Lee for his next video. Slim Shady was filming scenes for his next single, 'Headlights,' from his latest album, 'Marshall Mathers LP 2,' in Detroit.

Em went on Instagram to capture this historical moment for posterity. "Spike came out to the D for the 'Headlights' video…coming soon," he wrote in the caption.

On Wednesday (April 2), Lee traveled to Detroit but didn’t say why he was visiting Motown. Although he did post a photo of the 8 Mile sign, which sort of gave it away.

The 57-year-old director went on his Instagram account on Saturday (April 5) to give props to Em and the city of Detroit.

"Detroit’s Finest EMINEM And Me Working Together On His Short a Film. Historic. Who Woulda Thunk It," Lee wrote.

Spike Lee has directed several historic videos for big-name artists, including Naughty By Nature ('Hip-Hop Hooray') and the late Michael Jackson ('They Don’t Care About Us').

Eminem’s 'Headlights' is an emotionally driven track featuring .fun’s singer Nate Ruess. On the song, Em apologizes to his mother for their stormy relationship.

So you can expect Spike Lee and Eminem to create a very dramatic visual for the song. We can’t wait to see it.
