Eminem Gives Young Boy With Prosthetic Leg the Gift of a Lifetime
Eminem is changing lives this week. The rapper has became a hero to one of his youngest stans.
Teejay Stainer, a 10-year-old kid from the U.K., has lived with an amputated right leg since he was a 14-month old infant. Now he plays basketball and climbs trees thanks to Slim Shady's inspirational lyrics. Teejay has been listening to the Detroit native since he was 2 -- his parents put him on to Em's music since they're also fans.
"We have always taught him to listen to the lyrics and their meanings and as Eminem raps about surviving difficult times, it makes him feel brave, it makes him feel brave," Teejay's 28-year-old mother, Georgina, told the U.K.'s Daily Echo.
When Teejay got his first set of prosthetic legs, he designed them with his favorite rapper in mind. Em's face decorates the legs, which he featured in a post on social media. "These are my Eminem legs I've had made. My wish is for Eminem to see them," read a message from Teejay, which was shared thousands of times by social media users until it reached the 42-year-old rhymer.
Once the rapper got wind of Teejay's story, he sent him a fitting album -- Recovery -- with an appreciative message. "To Teejay, I saw your pic and read your message! Thanks for the support!" he wrote.
After receiving the gift, which is likely his most prized possession at 10, Teejay had one more thing to tell the "Lose Yourself" rapper: "I just wanted to thank him for getting me through the difficult times and show him how dedicated I am."
