In light of its 15 year anniversary, The Eminem Show, is still part of many discussions including who was the influence or inspirations behind the album.

In fact, the mastermind behind the Diamond-selling project is giving us bits of clues to the answer. Grammy Award-winning rapper Eminem took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal the LP was inspired by the 1998 Jim Carrey film, The Truman Show.

“The concept 4 the Eminem show was inspired by ‘The Truman Show’ because my life felt like it was becoming a circus around that time,” Shady wrote. “I felt like I was always being watched. Basically, Jim Carrey wrote my album.”

It all makes sense.
