Ask any hip-hop head to name one of their favorite rap films and "8 Mile" is sure to be on the list. The movie celebrates its 10-year anniversary on Nov. 8 and to mark the occasion, VIBE magazine has reunited the cast including Eminem, Mekhi Phifer and Anthony Mackie, among others.

In the October/November issue, the Detroit rapper sits down for a candid discussion with cast members about memories from the set. Six weeks of rehearsals were involved before "8 Mile" hit the silver screen on Nov. 8, 2002.

"I definitely felt like I was about to embark on some shit that was not necessarily up my alley," Em said of the project. "It was all brand new, and I'm so glad I had all of these guys around me. My hardest part, was remembering the lines.

"'Cause really, all I had to do was take myself back into the mind frame of how I felt before I got signed with Dre. It wasn't really too much to just be myself."

The Shady Records founder, born Marshall Mathers, also expressed his appreciation for the bonds made with actors like Phifer, Mackie and others. "When I look back at the movie, one of the cool things is we all became friends on the set," he shared. "The film carried over to how we [eventually] interacted in real life."
