Looks like Diddy's eldest son Justin Combs plans to follow in his father's footsteps, though you probably won't see him wearing a shiny suit in a music video any time soon.

The 17-year-old, who is currently a senior at Iona Prep, has reportedly been offered a football scholarship to play cornerback for UCLA.

The offer doesn't appear to be a publicity stunt either. While Justin is hardly a top recruit, at 5'9" and 175 pounds, he is still ranked as the No. 158 defensive back in the 2012 class, according to Scout.com, and has received offers from several Division-I schools like Illinois, Iowa, West Virginia and Virginia.

"I went to the UCLA scrimmage and it was great," Combs told BruinBlitz.com. "I talked to the head coach [Rick Neuheisel] and [he] just gave me the great news that I was being offered."

Justin's hip-hop mogul father once had similar dreams, but saw NFL star plans cut short when he broke his leg during his senior year of high school.

"I never had any aspirations to become a recording artist, producer, music mogul or anything like that," Diddy revealed to British DJ Tim Westwood back in January. "I loved American football. So throughout grade school and high school I was pursuing dreams to become a professional American football player. My last year of high school is when I broke my leg, right before my most important season when the scouts come to see you."

Clearly Diddy did fairly well for himself, despite his career change, amassing an empire worth an estimated $478 million, according to Forbes magazine. Meanwhile, his son Justin isn't the only one with NFL dreams.

"You know there aren't any black owners and I plan on being the first black owner of an NFL football team," Diddy recently revealed. "I wanna put it out there. Not minority owners, majority owners!"

Thankfully, his son's ambitions are slightly more down to earth.

"It's like a blessing to be able to go to school for free and actually be able to play football at the same time so I am blessed for all of my offers," Justin concluded. "This one is special. It's near my dad, he lives out there, so it was good and I was very excited."
