Like father, like son. Diddy’s son, Christian Combs, is following in his dad’s footsteps and is now an artist on Bad Boy Records.

The proud father made the announcement via a video on his Instagram page on Friday (April 1). In the short clip, you can see his son signing the contracts alongside Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid. (Epic is the distribution partner for Bad Boy.)

“NEW DEAL ALERT!!! Everyone wish my son @KingCombs a happy birthday & CONGRATS on signing that record deal!!” he wrote.

Christian also shared the good news on his Instagram account as well. He wrote, “Yesterday was the greatest day of my life. Not only was it my birthday, but Also the day a dream came true. I got signed to epic and BADboy records. I'm extremely thankful for everything that God has blessed me with and I will never take it for granted. Music is something that's been part of me my whole life. #Epic #Badboy we got this!”

For those who may not know, Christian turned 18 years old over the weekend. So this is a cool birthday gift for the upstart artist.

We haven't heard any new music from Christian Combs but he did perform with his dad at the Revolt Music Conference in Miami last year. We also took a cursory look at his Instagram page and found photos of him spitting rhymes in the studio. So he's definitely working on a project.

You know the old saying, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. So we can only expect greatness from King Combs.

In the meantime, check out Diddy saluting his son on his 18th birthday below.
