Diddy Sets Sail on Yacht Powered By an iPad

If anyone knows how to travel in style, it's Diddy. Over the holidays, the hip-hop mogul set sail on an $850,000 a week yacht that was powered by an iPad. The luxury vessel, dubbed Soulmates, included access to the device, which allows guests control to everything, with the exception of the steering wheel.

Designed by German luxury yacht firm Lurssen, Combs and his passengers, including ex-girlfriend Kim Porter and their two daughter Jessie James and D'Lila Star, were handed iPads, putting all their needs at their fingertips. "You won't find this app for download in the Apple store any time soon," said Robert Conner, central agent for the company that leases the ships, Luxury Yacht Group. "For instance, if we have a client who we know is a music industry bigwig, then we'll program the app's homepage to have a prominent shortcut to our high-speed media server's music library, and we'll do our research to make sure we have all the music they'd want to listen to.

The iPads are also customized to suit the need and interest of specific guests. Of course sailing in the lap of luxury will cost you a pretty penny, but according to Conner, guests who can afford the weekly $690,000 price tag, which doesn't include expenses which will add upwards of $150,000 to the bill, hit the sea in the lap of luxury. Radiating "warmth and glamour," Soulmates boasts a full dining room that seats up to 12, several Jacuzzis, a gym, bar, and entertainment salon. "We've an amazingly experienced crew which includes a chef who's worked in some of the best restaurants in Paris and England, a stewardess who speaks five languages and another who is also a cardiothoracic nurse."

If anyone can afford the nearly $1 million bill, it's Diddy. Amassing a fortune from several ventures including music, television, movies, and fashion, the 41-year-old's net worth is estimated at nearly $360 million.
