If you can believe it, today marks 20 years since the Notorious B.I.G. passed away after a fatal shooting in Los Angeles California. Hip-hop has been grieving the tragic loss since March 9, 1997, but the legacy of the legendary rapper lives on through fans, the industry, and his Bad Boy family.

As celebrities tribute to Biggie Smalls throughout the day, including special content dedicated to him being run on networks such as BET and Hot 97, Diddy is doing something a bit different.

The Bad Boy CEO, who originally signed Big to the label in the 90s, helping propel him to fame, went on social media to launch a brand new social media campaign honoring his late music brother. Mr. Combs wants fans to use their own social media accounts to post videos of themselves rapping along to their favorite Biggie lyrics. Puff revealed that the videos would be taken, edited, and chopped in order to be part of "something special."

In a video posted to his own account, the entrepreneur explained, “20 years ago today we lost the greatest rapper of all time, The Notorious B.I.G. We’re celebrating his life through his music and through his legacy today. I want everyone to get involved and rap your favorite Biggie verse, tag me and use the hashtag #WeMissYouBIG @badboyent."

It is definitely a very special day for hip-hop fans around the globe, and we know Biggie's legacy will be honored for generations to come.
