Chance the Rapper is taking no chances when it comes to the safety and well-being of his family. Case in point: the Chicago rapper took precautionary measures when he got stopped by police on Sunday (Oct. 8).

According to DNAInfo (Chicago), Chano livestreamed his traffic stop on his Instagram account. Apparently, the Coloring Book creator was driving with his daughter’s mother, Kirsten Corley, when he was pulled over by police.

"Hell, yeah, I'm not gonna be playing around with these [indecipherable]," Chance told his fans who were watching the incident go down.

“Just want y’all to be here in case it gets out of hand,” he added. “Should be good though. Should be straight.”

At another point, he tells viewers that he has his baby in the car so he wanted them to "help me out if it goes sideways."

"But, you know, can't be too careful. I'm in Chicago," Chance tells his viewers. "You know how they like to do mother---ers out here. Policing is a system. It's disproportionately racist and oppressive."

Thankfully, the police officer let Chance and Corley go with a warning for a reported moving violation. The pair then thanked the officer.

"See? I knew he was a good dude," said Chance. "I don't have any problem with the men and women that are brave enough to put on the badge." But, he adds, "As a system, policing is racist and oppressive."

We don't blame Chano for being overly cautious. We have seen traffic stops go sideways in the past. Hopefully, his fans learned something from Chance the Rapper's encounter with the police.
