Bun B Says Three 6 Mafia and UGK Were Once Going to be a Supergroup
During a recent appearance on N.O.R.E.’s Drink Champs podcast, Bun B revealed a few interesting things about legendary rap group, UGK.
Among the hip-hop facts revealed by Bun B were that UGK and Three 6 Mafia were in talks to merge and form a supergroup. According to Bun, the two groups were set to become The Underground Mafia and “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” was going to be their first song.
Unfortunately for hip-hop fans, the group fell through after Pimp C “ended up getting locked up,” the rapper said. Bun B also revealed that UGK’s “Int’l Player’s Anthem” originally featured Three 6 Mafia but “that version wasn’t able to cleared.”
Instead, fans got the version that included OutKast, which no can be mad at, since it's a bonafide southern classic. Take a look at Bun's interview above.
