Bobby Brown has just wrapped up filming of his biopic The Bobby Brown Story for BET. The veteran New Edition singer revealed that shooting the movie was therapeutic for him.

TMZ caught up with Brown at LAX on Friday night (April 27) and asked him if the movie brought him some closure in regards to his daughter Bobbi Kristina’s death. “A little bit but we are still working through it,” he says. But in the end, Brown added that “he’ll never have closure” even though he and his family are still grieving.

Bobbi Kristina died in August 2015 after spending several months in a coma. The singer-actress was initially discovered unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home. Her ex-boyfriend Nick Gordon was found legally responsible for her death after Bobbi Kristina's estate filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against him.

Although Gordon was ordered to pay her estate $36 million in her wrongful-death case, Brown feels the punishment was harsh enough. "Because he's still walking around free," he told Rolling Stone. "Justice? If he was locked up somewhere where somebody can rape him. That's just how I feel. He raped me by taking my daughter away."

As for the biopic The Bobby Brown Story, actor Woody McClain is reprising his role as Brown from the New Edition Story. The two-part mini-series, written written by Abdul Williams and executive produced by Jesse Williams, will detail Brown's post-solo career (following his departure from New Edition), his tryst with Janet Jackson and his marriage to the late Whitney Houston.

The Bobby Brown Story is slated to air on BET later this fall.
