Bobby Brown Joins Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Bobbi Kristina’s Boyfriend Nick Gordon
Bobby Brown is the newest plaintiff added to the ongoing civil wrongful death lawsuit against Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend Nick Gordon.
E! Online reports that the veteran R&B singer joined the $10 million legal action that alleges her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, died “due to a violent altercation with Defendant (Gordon) after which he placed her in a bathtub, unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture.”
The addendum comes after Gordon appeared on the Dr. Phil Show and revealed that Bobbi Kristina had a drug problem and suffered two miscarriages before she died. Elsewhere in the interview, Gordon denies any responsibility in Bobbi Kristina’s death and focuses the blame on her father, Bobby Brown.
It’s been almost a year since Bobbi Kristina’s death. The 22-year-old singer-actress was found unconscious in a bathtub in her Georgia apartment. She was rushed to a local hospital where she fell into a seven-month coma before passing away on July 16, 2015.
“I blame myself for not getting to Krissy quick enough that day,” said Gordon in the Dr. Phil interview. “I can’t blame myself for another addict’s addiction but I feel like I failed her. She didn’t make it. I did not protect her the way that I was supposed to, even if it was from herself.”
In August 2015, Bobbi Kristina's estate administrator, Bedevil Hargrove, filed an amended complaint against Gordon, alleging wrongful death along with the previous accusations that he had physically abused his girlfriend and stole nearly $11,000 from her bank accounts during her hospitalization.
Gordon's attorney has filed a response denying all of the allegations in the civil complaint. "Defendant admits he had several types of relationships with Ms. Brown and that Ms. Brown considered themselves married and held themselves out as such although they did not legally get married before her passing," reads the claim.
Nick Gordon's attorney had no comment on the matter.
