Bobbi Kristina’s Ex Nick Gordon Walks as Charges Dropped in Domestic Abuse Case
Bobbi Kristina Brown's former boyfriend Nick Gordon won't be facing charges for domestic violence. Gordon is walking away clean after prosecutors in Florida say they dropped all the charges against him as his girlfriend was no longer willing to cooperate.
According to TMZ, Gordon's girlfriend, Laura Leal, did not want him prosecuted and was the only witness. Prosecutors felt there was no chance of convicting Gordon.
In June, Gordon was arrested after police spoke with his girlfriend Leal who alleged that Gordon punched her inside his home and held her captive on the night of June 9.
Georgia officials are still investigating Gordon in connection with Bobbi Kristina Brown's death. The daughter of R&B star Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, Brown died in July 2015 after six months in a coma. She'd been found face down in a bathtub by Gordon and a friend that January.
Brown's estate subsequently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Gordon, and in fall 2016, Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford ordered Gordon to pay $36 million to Bobbi’s estate, after it was ruled that he repeatedly failed to meet court deadlines in the civil suit. His neglect to meet deadlines led to the conservator of her estate to win by default.
