After several mixtapes and Bandcamp albums, Denver-based goth-rap group BLKHRTS have finally announced that their debut full-length album, entitled JZBL JNKNS, will be out sometime this year. Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio fame and numerous other collaborations helped produce the record, which bodes well for fans of the dark, brooding music these guys create.

Composed of King F.O.E, Yonnas Abraham (aka Yorrisey) and Karma the Voice, the three MCs have been making waves with their moody music. Yorrisey helped produce "Killing Time" on Das Racist rapper Heems' acclaimed 2012 mixtape The Wild Water Kingdom.

But BLKHRTS' music takes cues from more than just hip-hop. "We feel a lot more connection to guys like Ian Curtis than we do to any rappers that we listen to," Yorrisey says, citing the Joy Division frontman as an influence on their sound.

The foreboding anthems of the post-punk band are certainly echoed in the emotionally charged music these three make, and rock-based elements are present even amidst synth production and swift flows.

If their early work is any indication, this full-length record will be one that overpowers hip-hop in 2013. Look for the record out on ORG Music and in partnership with Dave Sitek's Federal Prism label, which is scheduled to release EPs and singles for the group in the first quarter of 2013.
