The Black Eyed Peas have had a big year promoting their latest album 'The E.N.D.,' and they're already planning on making 2011 even bigger. According to preliminary reports, Will.i.am, Fergie and company are set to perform at the Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show in Dallas, taking place on February 6.

This marks the first contemporary act to be selected as the halftime performer since the infamous 2004 Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake "Nipplegate" incident, where Jackson's nipple was inadvertently exposed to a nationwide audience. In the years that followed, performers have included The Who, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Prince and The Rolling Stones.

BEP are about to embark on the South American leg of their yearlong The E.N.D. World Tour, with performances kicking off at Fortalez's Ceará Music Festival on October 15 and wrapping up at Lima, Peru's Estadio Monumental on November 13.

So far this year, the quartet made history when 'I Gotta Feeling' become the first track to reach the six million digital download mark. Their tour has made them the sixth best-selling performers of the year, grossing $29.5 million.
