Big K.R.I.T. to Drop ‘Might Not Be OK’ Mixtape Next Friday
It's always a good day when Big K.R.I.T. says he's dropping new music.
Aside from his freestyle tape, 12 for 12, which dropped July, we haven't heard a whole lot from the rapper since October 2015, when he released It's Better This Way with DJ Drama. But K.R.I.T went on Instagram early this morning (Sept. 8) to announce a new mixtape with Kenneth Whalum, Might Not Be OK.
K.R.I.T. previously collaborated with Whalum on "King Pt. 4" and "Away" in 2014. The saxophonist and producer (and nephew of celebrated saxophonist Kirk Whalum) is known for his soul-tinged production, and has worked with everyone from D'Angelo to Jay Z (American Gangster) and Maxwell (BLACKsummers'night).
K.R.I.T. has been relatively quiet since he announced back in July that he was leaving Def Jam following the release of two full-length albums, 2012’s Live From The Underground and 2014’s Cadilactica. Now it's clear that he's been in the studio, working.
Needless to say, we're excited to hear what the Mississippi rhymer and Whalum have come up with. Check out the post and artwork above.
