Ariana Grande is capping off a stellar year by performing a jazzy rendition of her new song "Focus" at the 2015 American Music Awards on Sunday (Nov. 22).

After gaining praise from Jennifer Lopez for being the only artist to reach the Top 10 on the Billboard charts with each of her first singles from each of her three albums, she was off to a good start. Introduced as "the amazing Ariana Grande," the 22-year-old singer came out onstage recalling the jazz vibe of the 1920s.

Donning long brown tresses in lieu of her usual high ponytail, Grande wore a long creme-colored dress with a slit that traveled toward her navel. She walked towards one dancer and asked him to remove her glove, and he did so -- with his teeth.

It was just Grande and the mic at first in front of red curtains but she soon disappeared behind it and reemerged with the bottom half of her dress gone.

The curtains opened and behind her was an explosion of dancers on a set of white steps and a live band full of horn instruments. Grande broke out into a few choreographed moves in white pumps and her bodysuit. And the consensus is that she "killed" it.

"Ariana is too good for words. I don think I'm ever getting over that performance. Everything on POINT, damn," tweeted on fan. "ARIANA KILLED THE WHOLE GAME," wrote another.
