Snootie Wild took over radio waves around the South with his heater, "Yayo" featuring Yo Gotti and then followed it up with the massive hit, "Made Me" with K Camp.

But that's not all the Memphis, Tennessee native has been up to. With a debut album slated to be released later this year, the 31-year-old rapper, who signed to Gotti's Collective Music Group, has been busy.

One day ahead of the release of his latest single, "Beetlejuise," Wild chatted with The Boombox to talk about working with Kanye West, giving back to the community and his next move.

The Boombox: What's been the most surprising change in your life since your big hit "Yayo"?

Snootie Wild: I had two big hits, I had "Yayo" and I had "Made Me" with K Camp. After those two happened, there was a lot of shows, a lot of media. Going overseas to South Korea. I had to educate myself on the business part a lot but every chance I got, I got a chance to sit down and work with people to make sure I understand the business part of the business. I heard a lot of Snootie Wild on the radio so it's time for me to pick back up where I left off.

Can we expect more collaborations with Yo Gotti?
Most definitely. I was with him in L.A. this week for Kanye West's video, working. He [Yo Gotti] got a project coming up real soon.

How was that?
It was different because it was in California and I've never been to California before. That was my first time in Kanye West's video. And I got to do some things that he planned out.
The way he produces is crazy.

What song was it for?
I guess it's Yo Gotti's song so I ain't going to speak too much on it because I don't know if he wants people to know. But all that I know is he's coming with something big and I'm going to be a part of it.

You're about to be on Love & Hip Hop next season too right?
Not that I know of. They want me but I haven't made a decision on that yet.

Would you want to? What's holding you back?
Right now I'm just focused on my music, my rap.

I saw that you spent some time at the Boys & Girls Club in Alabama. How was that?
I just like to go out there and be a motivational speaker and let them know that I've seen the places they saw and that I've been around the same environment. But, that doesn't mean that you can't be successful. That you have to give up, that you have to solve the systems that you see around you. That's why I go to the Boy's Club and especially in the hood area of the states like Alabama.

How's it been since you signed up with Collective Music Group?
It's really dope, seeing a lot of things, meeting a lot of people. Get a chance to see big brah and how he's moving with all his music and as a businessman. So, you know, it's like having a teacher and a mentor at the same time.

What would you say is the most important thing you've learned so far?
To never take nothing personal, everything is business. Be focused and stay focused on that. You won't fall back or you won't put yourself in the position where you're lacking because at the end of the day, this is your life, this is your music and nobody can't stop it. They can't do nothing but join the bandwagon.

What's next for you?
I'm working on my debut album. I got me and Kirko Bangz "Come Around," getting a lot of beats. "Beetlejuise" is about to drop, one of my new singles is coming out. It's pretty dope, it's for all genders, for kids, for all the teenagers. Anybody can enjoy the song. It's basically about the return of Mr. Yayo. Trying to get back in the groove of things, trying to get back to let the people know that Mr. Yayo is here to stay and he ain't going nowhere.

The song ["Yayo"] got bigger than me. I didn't know it was going to happen. I didn't know that the song would take off so fast that it got bigger then me. When "Made Me" came out "Yayo still kind of felt strong that it was like competition with "Made Me" even though "Made Me" was one of my biggest hits as well.

Who do you hope to work with next?
Chris Brown, we hung out two times. When he gets a chance or when we get a chance to just be free we'll probably work on something that I got going. Other than that, I got a few. I got Migos, we're close, we're cool. They're like a brother from another mother. So that's kind of easy to do after me getting myself back together and get me where I want to be before I start a new venture.

Listen to Snootie WILD's "Beetlejuise"

That sounds good.
It's moving, everything is looking great. I'm feeling good about it. We're just going to keep pushing. Basically we're focusing on singles. We're going to drop a single ("Beetlejuise") that debuts tomorrow. We got the "Come Around" video with Kirko Bangz and then we're going to be setting up the debut for the album.

Do you have an album name yet?
I'm not going to tell you because it's a surprise. It's going to be a dope name, people are going to respect why I named it the title. And it's just going to give the media more to talk about.

Can we expect it to come out this year?
Most definitely. After we drop "Beetlejuise" and "Come Around," we'll follow up with the album.

Is there anything you want to say to the fans?
Ya'll look out for Snootie Wild, Mr. Yayo the return. I love our fans and without my fans I wouldn't be here. I had to change it up. I had to clean myself up and realize that what's more important than the streets were my fans, my family.
