Since being released from prison earlier this year, XXXTentacion’s career hasn’t gone exactly the way he planned. From canceling the remainder of his Revenge Tour to getting knocked out while performing on stage, 2017 has been rough for the rapper, and now he plans to take a break.

On Wednesday (July 19), the Florida rapper took to Instagram and announced he would be “disappearing.” XXXTentacion wrote, “I’m going to disappear for a little while, I love you all.” The artist didn’t reveal any further information about his hiatus or when he would plan to return.

Back on Saturday (June 24), the Florida rhymer went on his Instagram page to announce that he was postponing his tour after learning that his cousin has been shot. In a since-deleted post, he wrote:

Dear fans and supporters, I am postponing the tour and giving a full refund to everyone that has purchased a ticket due to my cousin being shot yesterday. I want to be by his side, I apologize to everyone I am disappointing, I am, & must choose to maintain my mental health & physical health before anything, we will have fun and meet soon!

“Florida, since I will be home I will do your show, but after that, I am disappearing for a while,” it continued. “I love you all – xxx.”

After being named to XXL’s 2017 Freshman list, XXX has also been quiet on social media, having last tweeted on June 30.
