XXXTentacion will reportedly be released from jail today (Dec. 20) but he will have some restrictions.

According to TMZ, the embattled rapper’s attorney, David Bogenschutz, said that the judge will allow X to be on house arrest so he can fulfill his contractual duties, which include recording his album at a local studio.

The “Look at Me” creator will be on a 60-day house arrest. He is not permitted to have contact with any of the victims or witnesses in the case. Once the house arrest expires, XXXTentacion’s lawyers will try to get him released on bond while they prepare his legal case.

XXXTentacion is facing 15 felony charges, and they are all related to witness tampering in his ongoing domestic abuse case. Prosecutors believe the Florida rapper tried to coerce his ex-girlfriend and other witnesses to not testify against him.

Earlier this month, the alleged victim asked for the charges to be dropped, which resulted in a delay of his trial. In addition to the 15 felony charges, X is already facing charges of battery against a pregnant woman and false imprisonment. If he gets convicted on the witness tampering charges, the rapper could face decades in prison.
