The Underachievers Drop Warped Video For ‘The Proclamation’
Thankfully, The Underachievers haven't been living up to their name thus far. It was back in February when the Brooklyn duo dropped their debut mixtape, 'Indigoism' -- a 17-track project, void of any major collaborations, which fast-tracked the duo as Beast Coast's third legitimate act after Pro Era and Flatbush Zombies.
Like Joey Bada$$, who released 'Summer Knights' earlier this week, Issa Dash and Ak will have to continue to overachieve on their pending sophomore effort: a collaborative EP with Brick Squad's sonic architect Lex Luger, due out early August. On paper alone, it promises exciting results.
In the meantime, however, the Brainfeeder-signed pair run with their tried-and-tested formula on 'The Proclamation.' From the video's warped tour of Brooklyn to the slowed sample of The Rolling Stones' 'Gimme Shelter,' this is The Underachievers down to a T: classic New York flavor blended with new age psychedelia.
