The whole New-York-rap-is-dead debate was going on long before Kendrick Lamar jumped on Big Sean's 'Control' and knocked over the buildings like Snoop in '95. But the L.A. lyricist crowning himself the King of New York definitely intensified the misery of proud Big Apple purists.

Bed-Stuy native Maino lets the rap industry know how he feels on his new track, 'What Happened.' He calls out everything from radio stations and DJs to the swag rappers of today, as well as the city's over-reliance on Jay Z. "Guess I'm caught up in my feelings cause I can't just sit here and watch these n---as crush our buildings," he raps, referencing K. Dot's notorious verse.

Perhaps aware of the fact that he'll never be in the position to wear the KONY crown, Maino calls on assistance from a New York rapper people are more likely to listen to: Jadakiss. The LOX legend echoes these sentiments while frowning upon the same old Mike-WiLL-Made-It-beat-and-a-hook-from-Drake formula ("probably both be on my album, so don't try to call it hate," though).

Even if you're already dismissing this as the ramblings of two old men, they kinda have point.
