Rapper Kidd Kidd is a free man. The rapper was released from Rikers Island today (July 6) after posting a $105,000 bail, which is thanks to G-Unit for putting up the money.

According to XXL, the New Orleans native paid $5,000 for his New York case in criminal court and another $100,000 bond after appearing in Supreme Court. Judge Larry Stephen ordered the 2015 XXL Freshman to turn himself in to New Orleans police by Thursday (July 9).

Kidd Kidd was arrested on June 30 before his scheduled performance at the 2015 XXL Freshman Class concert in New York. The “I’m Grown” rapper was in protective custody at Rikers Island over the Fourth of July weekend for an out of state warrant for strangulation in the second degree.

“We are very happy that Judge Stephen did the right thing and allowed Kidd Kidd to turn himself in to New Orleans,” said attorney Scott Leemon, Kidd Kidd’s lawyer. “These allegations are insane and our investigation will continue.”

50 Cent posted an Instagram photo of Kidd Kidd, who was eating a bowl of pasta and looking a little scruffy but nothing that a haircut and fresh gear couldn’t fix. Fresh off Rikers island @kiddkiddrg
