Kanye West was presented with the Visionary Award at the 2015 BET Honors in Washington, D.C, on Saturday (Jan. 24). The rapper-producer, along with his wife, Kim Kardashian, attended the event, which also honored Usher and veteran Phylicia Rashad, among others.

Roc-A-Fella Records founder Damon Dash introduced West before honoring him with the trophy. According to Complex, Dash awkwardly revealed that he still has issues with the rapper but did salute him for his courageous spirit. An honorary video also played featuring Jay Z, Common, Kendrick Lamar and Kim praising West's creativity.

However, Dash received a ton of slander on Twitter for a selfie photo he took with 'Ye and his daughter, Ava, which revealed that he has a tooth missing.

Before West accepted his award, he performed a freestyle while longtime friend and collaborator Charlie Wilson sung ‘Outstanding.’

During his speech, West also threw a couple of barbs at Dash as well. "I understand how it feels to be humbled" he said jabbing back at Dame.

He then went on to talk about his wife, Kim, and explained how their relationship is different compared to the former beaus she has dated in the past. “They say white girls go out and get a rich black dude. But my wife dated broke black dudes,” he said. “So it's not about the money.”

While West was accepting his honor, his good friend Rihanna released a song that she recorded with him and Paul McCartney called ‘FourFiveSeconds.’ You can listen to the song here.

The 2015 BET Honors will air on BET on Feb. 29 at 8PM ET.
