With some help from collaborator Noah Goldstein, Kanye West scored and edited the trailer for Lindsay Lohan's new film, 'The Canyons.' While that might seem random on paper, there's actually a pretty reasonable explanation for it.

If you followed the pre-release hype of 'Yeezus,' it's very likely that you caught West's gory 'American Psycho' spoof and album trailer starring Scott Disick and Jonathan Cheban. It was actually created with the help of Bret Easton Ellis, who wrote the book from which 'American Psycho' got its story and title.

And now, Ellis and West have seemingly teamed up again, as the writer crafted the screenplay for 'The Canyons.' And in West's hands, the promo clip gets an extra dose of tension that builds from slow piano clinks to near-industrial noise. The actual movie is scored by Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene.

You can watch the trailer below. The film is out today.
