Gunplay Is Changing His Name on New Year’s Day

Maybach Music Group rapper Gunplay is taking New Year’s resolutions to another level.

When the clock strikes 12 on Jan. 1, 2015, Gunplay will be a memory of the past as the rapper announced via Twitter that he will change his name to “Don Logan” on New Year’s Day.

The move comes as nationwide demonstrations and die-ins are being held in protest of the grand injury decisions in both the Eric Garner and Mike Brown murder cases. We are not sure if the protest influenced the 'Pyrex' rapper to change his name to the more marketable Don Logan, but he isn't the first rapper to do it.

In fact, Lil Boosie just switched up his name to Boosie Badazz.

Gunplay’s debut album, ‘Living Legend,’ is scheduled to drop in 2015.
