It’s no secret that DMX loves dogs, but reps at a boarding facility that cares for canines is accusing the rapper of being an absentee owner of his pit bull.

WLNE News is reporting that DMX has abandoned his pit bull named X at a boarding house. The Four Paws Pet Resort in in Warwick, R.I., has been caring for the dog for several months after DMX left the animal in their care while he was on tour. But reps at the facility say the veteran rapper has been missing in action. On top of that, the former Ruff Ryders artist hasn’t paid a bill since October after leaving the dog at the facility in August.

Chad Callahan, the owner of Four Paws Pets, told WLNE that DMX was considering giving the dog up for adoption but he hasn't followed through on the paperwork. “He said yes. So, I asked him to send us a letter relinquishing ownership of the dog and we'd be happy to help," he said. He agreed but then a month went by and we didn't hear from him again.”

DMX has yet to officially sign the dog over to Callahan so for now, “X” is stuck at the boarding home. “Bully breeds don't fair very well in shelters,” said Callahan. “They try their best but staff often get overwhelmed with them and a lot of them get euthanized. He's such a nice dog and he doesn't deserve that so we're just trying to do our part.”

Reps for DMX had no comment on the matter.
