Hip-hop can be rough, tough and aggressive, but there are some things that can soften even the most gangster of rappers (and singers): their dogs.

Sure, there have been hip-hop videos where canines are featured to add more of hard, edgy vibe to a video like DMX's "Ruff Ryders' Anthem" or Snoop Dogg's "Who Am I? (What's My Name)" visuals. But aside from the growls and barks, as the famous saying goes, a dog is a man's best friend.

Singers and rappers have proven that statement endlessly by sharing their favorite furry friends on their Instagram accounts. From selfies with their puppies to transporting them in fashionable doggy bags like Ciara, more than a few artists aren't ashamed of showing their love for their pet pooches. There are even some like, OutKast's Big Boi who even advocate for certain breeders. Big pitbulls and chubby English bulldogs are popular while other artists like CeeLo Green adore the smaller, fluffier kind like the adorable pup he's recently been seen toting around on social media.

Since today (Aug. 26) is National Dog Day, The Boombox celebrates the furry friends in your favorite singers and rappers' lives. As DMX would say, "Where my dogs at?" Check out 10 Rappers & Singers Show Love for Their Dogs above.
