It seems like Curren$y is dropping a new mixtape every few weeks. About a month ago, the New Orleans native delivered his Stoned on Ocean EP. Now he’s back with another project, Weed & Instrumentals 2.

The collection finds the Jet Life rhymer spitting weeded-out rhymes over popular rap instrumentals. Among the beats Curren$y jacks include Dr. Dre’s “Nuthin’ But a G Thang, Lil Yachty’s Minnesota," Rick Ross' "Pirates," Compton's Most Wanted's "Growing Up in Tha Hood," Raekwon's "Incarcerated Scarfaces" and many others.

On "Good Cop, Bad Cop," Curren$y addresses police brutality - in particularly the Alton Sterling shooting in Baton Rouge - over a soothing instrumental of Erykah Badu's "Other Side of the Game."

"'Bout an hour up the road from my New Orleans blocks / But all around the world they heard them shots," he raps. "Said he was trying to pull something out / But no man deserved what he got / What was disputes of that deadly force based on? / Was it because he weighed more? / Was it the pressure from your job? / You wish you was gettin' paid more?"

In addition, Curren$y invites his fellow Jet Lifers Mr. Marcelo and Corner Boy P as well as former No Limit rapper Fiend to spit bars over memorable rap instrumentals.
