Chinx's family and friends will give a final farewell to the slain rapper at his funeral, which will take place on May 26 in Queens, N.Y.

The rapper, born Lionel Pickens, was fatally shot on Sunday (May 17) while he was stopped at a red light in Queens while driving his Porsche. Chinx, 31, was shot at least eight times inside his vehicle, and a passenger, Antar Alziadi, was also shot. Three men who have been linked to the murder have reportedly been taken into police custody.

Cops are suspecting that the drive-by shooting could be connected to the murder of Chinx's mentor, Stack Bundles, in 2007. The NY Daily News reports that both murders shared a number of similar characteristics -- both happened while the rappers were in Porsches and occurred in the early morning hours after a gig.

Chinx's wake and funeral will be held in the Greater Allen A.M.E Cathedral of New York on Tuesday morning. The wake will take place at 11AM followed by the funeral service at noon.

Since his untimely death, the hip-hop community has shared memories and sadness regarding his murder. French Montana stated that Chinx was "one of the realest people I met." According to the Casino Life 2 creator, he says he's going to "finish off what we started.”

The family released a statement about the "Feelings" rhymer's death and request that fans send monetary support instead of flowers to help with finances after his passing. A GoFundMe page has been created with a goal of $20,000. More than $10,000 has been raised so far.

As you can imagine, in today’s challenging economic climate, losing your primary source of income can be devastating. When that loss is due to the unexpected death, it leaves a void that can never truly be filled.

Instead of sending flowers, please consider helping the family fill part of the financial void. Your donations will help provide much needed financial stability to a family who deserves so much more than what they have been dealt. We cannot replace the warmth, charisma, wit, charm, and love that Chinx gave to not only his family, and friends, but also, his fans. We can however, help keep them focused on what really matters, and that is each other.

On behalf of the Pickens family, Mungin family and Four Kings Management, we thank you all for your love and support.

You can make a donation at the GoFundMe page here.
