The Billboard Music Awards may have been cause for celebration Sunday (May 17), but the hip-hop community was far from in a jovial mood after learning of rapper Chinx's murder in Queens, N.Y. Now the late rhymer's friend and Coke Boys leader French Montana is opening up about his untimely death.

Montana shared his thoughts on Chinx's passing in a video post on Instagram. The rapper posted a clip of Jay Z giving an "R.I.P" shout out to the slain artist at his "B-Sides" concert on Sunday night. "The devil comes in all shapes and sizes and he's ruthless," Montana wrote as the caption to the video. "Life here is temporary. They will kill you for this lifestyle if they can't afford it. Jealousy is a motherf-----. Protect yourself, protect the people you love."

He also expressed anger at the streets and sent condolences to Chinx's children and family members.

"I'm sad to see my brother go out like this," the Bad Boy signee stated. "One of the realest people I met. This s--- is not right. These streets don't love us. My prayers go to his kids and family. We going to finish off what we started."

Khloe Kardashian, who's been dating Montana for the past year, also shared her feelings about Chinx on her Instagram page.

"We've only known each other a short time but it was the best time, full of memories that I will cherish forever. I miss you Chinxy," wrote the reality star. She also posted a photo of herself jet-skiing with Chinx, who was shot and killed while driving a Porsche Panamera 4.

According to OnRockaway.com, the New York City Police Department's SWAT team arrested three men allegedly involved with his murder. No further details were given. We'll be sure to provide more information on this story as it unfolds.
