Azealia Banks escaped jail time on Wednesday (March 15) after accepting a plea deal in her assault case stemming from a 2015 incident in which she allegedly bit a female security guard's nipple and punched her.

If you recall, the female security guard attempted to escort Banks out of the club, when the "212" rapper allegedly spat at the guard and started biting on her breast. According to New York Post’s Page Six, Banks appeared in court and pled guilty to third-degree assault in exchange for a deferred no-jail sentence.

“Did you intentionally cause physical injury to Christine Soares by biting down on her breast?” asked Judge Ann Scherzer in Manhattan Criminal Court. “Yes," replied Banks who donned a glimmering grey dress, stocking and black high-heeled boots.

Banks must also complete an anger management program and continue her mental health treatment. In addition, the 25-year-old rapper must avoid getting arrested in the future. If she manages to meet those conditions, the assault conviction will be reduced to disorderly conduct. But Judge Scherzer warned her that if she violated the terms, she faces up to a year in jail.

Banks was also accused of attacking a bouncer at a Los Angeles nightspot in Oct. 2015, according to Assistant District Attorney Shea Donato, but those charges were dropped.

Hopefully, Banks can stay out of trouble and get her career back on track.
