6lack continues his notable ascension with the release of his latest video for the slow-grinding, "Free" from his debut project of the same name.

The song takes a look at what it really means to be "free" and how sometimes the illusion of freedom is nothing more than that, a fantasy. It's a lesson he's trying to share with his girl, who thought she wanted to break free from the confines of their relationship, only to realize the grass isn't always greener.

"You had just what you needed to be/Everything you want to be/But you'd rather run round these streets/Now you're feeling freer than you've ever been/But really you feel trapped, no need to pretend," 6lack croons hauntingly on the second verse.

The Atlanta singer has a busy year ahead as he continues to build his buzz. He'll be hitting the road with The Weeknd on the North American leg of his Starboy tour. He also recently dropped a steamy track with Jhene Aiko, "First F---."
