Insecure. Marvel's Luke Cage. black-ish. Empire. How To Get Away With Murder. Power. There has obviously been a surge in Black programming on major networks in the past few years, and as a result, we're getting to see some great Black actors and actresses truly get to shine. On top of that, we have a ton of Black writers and producers who are getting the platforms to show their talents and tell unique stories. Ava DuVernay's Queen Sugar, Tyler Perry's The Haves and Have Nots, Spike Lee is remaking his 1986 indie classic She's Gotta Have It as a Netflix series, the ongoing ratings juggernaut that is Shonda Rhimes' "Shondaland" lineup on ABC--it's an exciting time if you love seeing Black characters and Black stories on TV.

And Black actresses are doing major things on TV right now. There are a bevy of great actresses shining on the small screen--and some of the most beautiful women in Tinseltown are finally getting a spotlight. These are gorgeous ladies and great actresses who we can't get enough.

The Boombox wanted to celebrate the bold beauty and badness of Black women on television--so here they are: The 30 Hottest Black Actresses On TV [above].
