It's that time of year.

The weather is getting warmer and the hemlines are getting shorter and shorter. It’s also that time of year when music festivals are in abundance. These events are a great way to see your favorite music acts perform all in one place.

Music festivals - if done right - are fun, but also can be a test of endurance. Spending your days being crushed into crowds, dripping in sweat and getting hit by monstrous decibels of sound may not be the most exciting thing to do on a summer day. However, if you prepare yourself, it can turn into a great day you won't forget.

This year, festival organizers are stepping their game up and are presenting more diverse acts to their events. The 2016 Coachella Festival boasts Ice Cube and A$AP Rocky on their wide-ranging bill, while the Roots Picnic offers a varied roster of Future, Usher (backed by the Roots), Leon Bridges and more on its roster.

One new festival is being launched this summer. The producers of the Coachella Music Festival is bringing the Panorama Festival to New York with Kendrick Lamar among the headliners. In the U.K., Londoners will flock to the Wireless Festival featuring J. Cole, Miguel and Future on the bill.

Hip-Hop vets Nas and Fabolous are set to rock the annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival in July, while Mariah Carey and Maxwell are among the performers for the Essence Music Festival.

If you want to see your favorite rappers - both indie and mainstream - the Soundset Festival boasts a rap-heavy lineup with Common, Future, A$AP Rocky, the Roots, Atmosphere, Murs & 9th Wonder and more headlining the event.

Kanye West hasn't perform much in 2016 but he's set to rock the mic at this year's Governors Ball and Macklemore will headline the Bonnaroo Music Festival. Finally, K. Dot is hitting the stage at Los Angeles' FYF Fest and J. Cole is headlining Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival.

Overall, there's something for everyone at these music festivals. So without further ado, here's our list of some of the Must-See Summer Festivals of 2016.
