Jay Electronica will make his first British festival appearance this year when he takes the stage at London's LoveBox festival on Saturday, July 17.

LoveBox organizers announced Jay Elect's main-stage performance early this week, explaining that they decided to save the exciting news for the last minute. Jay Elect has not performed at any British festivals thus far, but the rapper did touch down in the U.K. in February, where he performed two sold-out shows at the London's Jazz Cafe before returning Stateside to perform at Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music & Arts festival in June.

After dropping his recent track, 'The Ghost of Christopher Wallace,' Elect revealed that his current focus is on extending his performance schedule. "I want to tour and travel the world," he told Vibe. "I'm definitely going to make a point to go all over the continent especially after the experience I had shooting 'Exhibit C' in Nepal."

One of his upcoming performances includes a stint at Chicago's North Coast Music Festival in September, where he will join Lupe Fiasco, De La Soul and Nas & Damian Marley.

Other performers at the 2010 LoveBox festival include rapper Dizzee Racal, Hot Chip and Grace Jones. The performances will be held at Victoria Park in London from July 16-18.
