Monica Explains Why Lil’ Kim Was Removed From New Song

Lil' Kim fans won't get the chance to hear a final version of her featured verse on Monica's 'Anything (to Find Love)' due to one late rapper's mother.

The Brooklyn Queen Bee's lyrics were taken off the song after Voletta Wallace, the Notorious B.I.G.'s mother, was presented with the track and asked to approve the sampling of her fallen son's 1995 hit 'Who Shot Ya,' however, it seems she may only approve the final track without Kim's work on it.

"I am just finding out what has happened to my single and myself & Missy are beyond hurt that @LilKim was removed. She's our friend, a legend & @LilKim will get the respect she deserves at all cost. The clearance was revoked & I'm fighting to get it reinstated by the Biggie Estate," the R&B singer wrote via Twitter.

Missy Elliott produced Monica's track, which also features Miami's 'Teflon Don' Rick Ross rhyming on it. While the singer wanted Kim on the official version, she's just following the requests of Biggie's mother -- in the past, both Voletta and Lil' Kim have publicly feuded, mainly over the latter's portrayal in the Biggie biopic 'Notorious.'

"I am as through as they come and I LOVE @LilKim bottom line is Ms Wallace has the final say and she said No. If we put it out we get SUED," she added.

Lil' Kim voiced her opinion about the removal of her lyrics with a "they cant stop us" post on Twitter. She also revealed that she, Missy and Monica are working on "something even bigger" for fans.
