Bad news for a Monday: Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his parotid gland. While the doctors caught the cancer early enough and Yauch is expected to make a full recovery, the band has canceled their forthcoming tour dates, which included many headlining festival appearances and will push back the release of their next record, 'Hot Sauce Committee Part 1' to an unknown date.

In a video message posted to Beastieboys.com, Yauch explains his situations to the world, detailing that he will undergo surgery next week with further radiation treatments. "The good news is, they did scans of my whole body and it is localized in this one area. It's not in a place that affects my voice, so that's nice. It's a bit of a set back, but it's something that is very treatable."

The Beastie Boys were recently on a promotional trip in Europe when Yauch thought that a suspicious swollen gland should be checked out when they returned. Sure enough, his doctors found what was cancer. The Beastie Boys were gearing up for a huge summer with one of the year's most anticipated new studio albums, their first set of all new rhymes since 2004's 'To The 5 Boroughs.' All we can say is: get well soon!
