There seems to be some confusion as to who produced Lil Wayne's new single.

The song 'John' features Rick Ross, and bears a striking resemblance to Ross' J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-produced track 'I'm Not a Star.' Despite having similar beats and lyrics to Ross' track, 'John' has been credited to Polow da Don rather than the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, but now Yung Berg is also attempting to take credit for the beat.

Berg has been fairly quiet since being pistol-whipped last month, apparently putting time in behind the boards, as the 'Sexy Lady' rapper claims to have produced 'John' with production partner Ayo.

"The newest release that we have right now, it's called 'John (If I Should Die),' I think," Berg reveals in a new interview. "We put it out, it's the second [single] effort, off 'Tha Carter IV' featuring Rick Ross."

While there is no definitive source confirming Berg's involvement in the song, Wikipedia lists Berg and Ayo as co-producers on the track, behind Polow and Diddy-Dirty Money producer Rob Halloday, who also helmed Berg's debut single, 'Sexy Lady.'

We're guessing the credit will be cleared up shortly, meanwhile Berg's 'Mr. Ward' mixtape was released a month ago, and features appearances by Ray J, Shawty Lo, Young Chris and several more.
