The feud between Lil Wayne and Young Thug may have taken a violent turn for the worse and it stems from a tour bus shooting in April.

TMZ reports that there has been an arrest involving the shooting of Lil Wayne's tour bus and that the suspect is linked to Young Thug.

Jimmy Carlton Winfrey was apprehended by Atlanta police and was charged with aggravated assault, terrorist threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and criminal gang activity. Cops issued a warrant for his arrest on May 21 and went after him immediately.

According to TMZ, Winfrey was once Young Thug's road manager and that the reason he shot up Wayne's tour bus was to commit "a high-profile shooting of a rival rap artist" in hopes of upping his status with the Bloods gang. In April, Wayne's bus was shot at in Atlanta when he was leaving a club appearance.

Earlier this week, Young Thug was interviewed by No Days Off Radio and revealed that he wanted to name his next mixtape Tha Carter V, if Wayne's album of the same name wasn't released. The two rival rappers have been sending jabs at each other for the past couple of months. After Thug attempted to name his last project Carter 6, an exasperated Wayne sounded off on the ATL rapper. This started the beef and resulted in both parties trading shots.Thug latered switch name and dropped the Barter 6 mixtape.

Young Thug hasn't released a statement in connection to the shooting. The Boombox will keep you updated on any further developments.
