Yo Gotti Talks Juicy J Beef, Trinidad James Comments & ‘I Am’ Album With the Breakfast Club

Rapper Yo Gotti is on his promotional grind to hype up his latest project, ‘I Am.’ The Memphis rhymer visited Power 105.1’s ‘The Breakfast Club’ to talk about his issue with Juicy J, Trinidad James‘ New York comments and more.

When asked about his recent tweets in which he called out Juicy J for supposedly dodging him, Gotti said it was simply a misunderstanding.

“I talked to Juicy J about an hour after that tweet,” he said. “It’s like, homie, I don’t have an issue with you. I ain’t trying to do nothing to him. I don’t know how they do it in other cities, but in Memphis, it ain’t that big, you pull up on whoever you want to pull up on, [it’s] easy.”

The conversation then switched over to comments Trinidad James made regarding New York losing its musical edge and that the South is ruling the city.

“I feel like it’s a blessing that down south music [is getting played] in New York,” he says. “I remember a time when I used to come to New York and I ain’t hear no south music on the radio.”

“I wouldn’t say the South runs New York,” he continues. I don’t think a rural runs [any region]. When it comes to music, I just feel like the South music is getting accepted in more places — New York, west coast, probably overseas, all kinds of different places.”

The ‘Act Right’ rapper also talked about his strange Twitter tiffs with Gucci Mane.

Finally, Gotti said he’s happy with his label situation over at Epic Records.

“It’s great — CMG/Epic — we’re doing what we set out to do. The album [is out]. I think it’s some of my best work that I put together. I’m feeling good.”

Yo Gotti’s ‘I Am’ is in stores now.
