Gun violence has struck the hip-hop community once again. Rapper YG was shot in Los Angeles early Friday morning (June 12).

According to TMZ, the My Krazy Life creator was at a recording studio in Studio City, Calif. at about 1:45 a.m. when a gunman shot him three times in the hip. Police on the scene discovered several shell casings and found blood on the sidewalk.

Despite his wounds, the “Bicken Back Being Bool” rhymer was able to climb into his car and a friend assisted in driving him to the hospital.

There are no details on the shooter, who is still reportedly on the loose. A rep for YG reveals his injuries are not life-threatening and he's recovering. While at the hospital, cops showed up to get more details on the shooting but TMZ reports that YG is being "very uncooperative."

Minutes before midnight on Thursday (June 11), the West Coast MC tweeted, "WESTSIDE," showing love for his region and showed no indication that the night could turn to violence.

Earlier this year, YG revealed that he was going to be a father. His daughter is scheduled to arrive on June 15, which is just three days away. Hopefully, he is in better health to witness the birth of his first child.
