Rapper-turned-actor Xzibit returns to his first love with a new album, 'Full Circle,' out this week. But while he's out on the road promoting the upcoming release, he's enjoying the success of his latest big-screen venture, 'Gridiron Gang.'

While X says he's happy about the success of the movie, he's more grateful that people are getting it. "It's my first co-starring role, so I'm glad that it did well. But more importantly, I'm glad the message got out there," he tells AOL Music. Is he surprised by the success? Nah: "People love to hear true stories, especially when they pan out towards the positive."

In fact, he knew during filming that the movie was unique. "When I was actually filming, it was a lot of hard work, but everybody involved realized how special the story was."

In other X news, the rapper took part in VH1's upcoming Hip-Hop Honors as the invited guest of an old friend: "Ice Cube got honored this year, so he chose Lil Jon, Snoop and myself to perform with him."
