Wyclef Jean's recent campaign for the Haitian presidency became more of a media nightmare than he had initially imagined. After weeks of interviews, sniping with celebrities and battling with election authorities, Jean was barred from officially running and suffered from what appeared to be an episode of extreme exhaustion. Well, now Clef is back and doing what he does best. The former Fugee has a new EP on the way entitled 'If I Were President: My Haitian Experience' that chronicles his recent trials and tribulations.

"The life story of an immigrant," he said when explaining the theme behind the new record. "It's for everyone who has had to leave one place and adapt to another. It's about the refugee in all of us trying to fit in. But it's not all sorrowful. In life, there is love and hate, war and peace. It's both sides. This is the continuation of my music and it represents both sides. It's for all my fans. It's for those who love me for 'Gone 'Til November' and 'Hips Don't Lie,' too."

The album's first single will be the already-leaked 'Election Time' and the entire EP should be hitting digital retailers on Dec. 7.
