Wiz Khalifa is mourning the loss of his sister, Dorien “Lala” Thomaz, who passed away on Monday (Feb. 20). She was 32.

Wizzy confirmed about his sad loss on Friday (Feb. 24) via his Twitter account. Lala was his sister and was also transgender.

“The loss of my sibling has been the hardest thing I’ve had to deal with but your prayers and well wishes my family will get through this,” he tweeted.

Khalifa’s mother, Peachie Wimbush, also paid tribute to her daughter by posting her obituary on her Instagram page, including a quote from the film, Steel Magnolias.

"...there was no noise, no tremble, just peace,” the caption read. “Oh God(dess), I realized as a woman how lucky I am. I was there when that wonderful creature drifted into my life and I was there when she drifted out. It was the most precious moment of my life.”

“I have seen, heard and felt every bit of your love,” Wimbush added.

According to Dorien’s obituary, young woman died “peacefully with her Mother by her side.” A cause of death has not been revealed.

A few of days prior, Ms. Wimbush posted an image of her hand placed on top of her daughter's hand. "Your prayers are necessary... thank you in advance," she wrote in the caption.
