Will.i.am to Ring in New Year With Las Vegas DJ Set

Black Eyed Peas main man Will.i.am is known for writing and producing party anthems, but he's plenty good at spinning them, too. He proves as much with his periodic DJ sets, and later this year, he'll preside over his first-ever New Year's Eve bash, selecting choice jams for partygoers at the Surrender Nightclub -- part of the Encore Beach Club complex -- in Las Vegas.

"Will.i.am is the ultimate renaissance man," said Sean Christie, Surrender's co-owner and managing partner, in a statement announcing the booking. "From his musical accomplishments and creative endeavors to his contributions to humanitarian, educational, and political causes, he is a fascinating pop culture figure who draws in fans by the droves. We are thrilled to have him lead our biggest party of the year."

Tickets are $150 for men and $50 for ladies, and admission includes a two-hour open bar.

This won't be Will.i.am.'s first time DJing for the Encore, and chatting prior to a Labor Day gig, he explained how rocking a party his different from being onstage.

"I don't like to look at this as a performance," he said. "I like to look at this as a conversation -- making a beat and seeing how people react. I like to stay on my toes and see how it goes."
