‘Weird Al’ Yankovic Reveals Why He Never Spoofed a Vanilla Ice Song [EXCLUSIVE VIDEO]

For the past three decades, “Weird Al” Yankovic has been taking the biggest hits of the moment, putting his own comedic spin on them and churning out some of the most memorable parodies in musical history.

He’s dropped hits like the 1984 spoof ‘Eat It,’ a parody of Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’; and a take on Chamillionaire’s 2005 smash ‘Ridin” with ‘White & Nerdy.’ More recently, Weird Al has released a number of new parody songs for Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines,’ Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’ and Pharrell’s chart-topper ‘Happy,’ which are all included on his new album, ‘Mandatory Fun.’

But not every artist is fond of getting the Weird Al treatment. Coolio initially didn’t give the green light for Al’s ‘Amish Paradise’ — a spin on the rapper’s ‘Gangsta’s Paradise.’ He later reconsidered the idea. “['Weird Al'] did Michael Jackson. And Michael Jackson didn’t get mad,” he shared.

So with all of the tracks he’s done up until this point, are there any songs that couldn’t get the Weird Al treatment due to legal reasons or because an artist nixed the idea? Find out what he has to say about why he never spoofed a Vanilla Ice record above.
