Wale gives a heartfelt shout-out to black women in his groovy new single "Black is Gold" and names specific people within the entertainment industry, like Lupita Nyong'o.

"Hey Ms. Lupita, I hope you know you inspired a future women for us / Don't know your vibe really, just know that your mother Kenyan / Just know that melanin memorizing in every picture," he raps over a sample of D'Angelo's classic tune "Lady."

Like Common did on his brilliant single Black American Again, Wale sends love to Viola Davis, as well as Insecure star Issa Rae and he also references a part of the show's story line.

"Hey Ms. Issa Rae / Beautiful Senegalese leader with sh-t to say / We should meet today, maybe at a Best Buy / Lawrence high, still I'm proud Issa a savage, actually Issa's nice," he spits.

It's not clear where the "Black is Gold" single will end up, or if the DMV rhymer just wanted to treat folks to a new tune for the holiday season. Either way, his fans will certainly be happy, and even those who aren't big Wale listeners should like the song.
