Wale has been noticeably absent from the Internet, but Mr. Folarin got back to Twitter this week and explained his leave with promises of a new mixtape dropping Aug. 3.

Wale earned himself a reputation as an avid tweeter back in June when he used the social-networking platform to settle rumors behind a concert cancellation. Organizers of the LGBT-sponsored Black Pride Legacy Festival in his hometown D.C. accused him of being homophobic after pulling out of a $20,000 performance, when in fact the performance details had been miscommunicated by his management team.

"I'm back twitter," Wale wrote on Thursday, "... whats good! I'm excited bout my new work ... I been analyzing...working on my craft ... in the studio everyday ... and learning." The new mixtape, 'More About Nothing,' will be Wale's first release since his debut album 'Attention: Deficit' in November. Wale addressed his temporary disappearance in short YouTube clip, which you can watch below.
