Wale Releases New Song, ‘LoveHate Thing’

Sometimes your enemies are closer than you think, and such is the case for Wale, who's talking about just that on his new track, "LoveHate Thing."

The soulful song, which is the second single from his third album, "The Gifted," details the Maybach Music Group rhymer's troubles with friends who wish for his downfall as he rises to the top.

"Love you then they hate you then they love you," he states before the track begins. "Hate you then they love you then they hate you."

"Ain't no love in the heart of city, that's what they told me," he continues. "Beef with over 100 n----s, don't none of them know me."

Producer Sam Dew's refreshing vocals round out the effort, which he also produced along with Stokley and Tone P.

"The Gifted," a follow-up to his 2011 LP, "Ambition," arrives June 25. The album also features his chart-climbing single "Bad."
